Employee Portal

The ESS solution provides for a unified and secured access to selected information, services, applications and documents (including, if required, updating of the data) in the SAP ERP system. And all of this with only an internet browser and a single www address. The main advantage is the user comfort of the solution. The set of standard functions of the ESS package can be gradually enriched by the user.

The standard functions are structured as follows:

  • Employee Search – This function searches for employees within the company organizational structure and shows their personal and organizational data (personal number, name, e-mail, position, organizational position, etc.). The employee can update his/her personal and organizational data.
  • Benefits and Payment – The employee can view his/her overall up-to-date compensation data here. He/she can also display his/her payroll excerpts or ask for the employment certificate or wage certificate for external institutions (e.g. banks). Apart from this, he/she can also view his/her benefit plans and ask for new benefits using the appropriate form.
  • Career and Job – The employee can change his/her qualifications profile here (e.g. add new qualifications to the profile). He/she has access to the internal profession pool of the company, can search for vacant positions and apply for vacant professions. He/she can use the qualifications catalog, his/her CV, a list of his/her job applications, etc.
  • Work Environment – This function enables the employee to see an overview of his/her equipment and change the information on his/her accessories.
  • Life and Work Events – This provides for creating an overview of a variety of life and work events, such as birthdays or the kickoff of a new project.
  • Working Time – This function is intended for reports on and recording of employee’s working time, viewing of time-related data, absence planning including vacation requests, etc. – Time records can also be adjusted, e.g. duplicate entries can be removed or missing accounting data completed.
  • Personal Information – Here the employee can maintain his/her personal data such as addresses, bank details and information about family members and dependents, as well as authentication data for the Employee Contact Center (EIC).
  • Purchasing – The Purchasing function enables the employee to create a shopping basket with the required goods and services. The employee can monitor the purchasing process, e.g. check whether his/her order has been approved.
  • Travel & Expenses – Using this function, the employee can book his/her travel costs and expenses. He/she can view, change, copy or cancel his/her existing travel requests, travel plans or booked expenses. He/she can also check his/her credit card transactions, which have been imported to the system.
